Mrs. Montra Merrell Carden, age 87 of Brewton, AL passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at D.W. McMillan Hospital.

Mrs. Carden was a native of Santa Rosa County and had been a resident of Brewton since 1981 coming from Pascagoula, MS. She worked as co-owner of a printing company and was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Carden was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Orval Horace Carden, a brother, Clifford Barrentine and sisters, Itra Palmer and Effie Raines.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and George Hill of Jackson, Ms; grandchildren; Tracy and Jason Cook, Michael Higgenbotham, Robert Higgenbotham, David Higgenbotham and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Craver's Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday evening, April 8, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. from the Craver's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Carden and Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating.

Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brewton, AL.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Black, Ben Black, Tommy Barrentine, Lee Barrentine, Robert Carden and Danny Woodham.
